University Admissions &
Career Counseling

University Admission and Career Counseling is an important responsibility that our staff takes very seriously.  The school undertakes the responsibility of guiding our students as they explore interests, aptitudes and choice of university.  Many of our students study in Spain, the European Union and outside of Europe. It is our responsibility to ensure that our students are making sound decisions.

To enable our students to express themselves articulately in their college applications, we encourage students to learn as much about themselves before researching and exploring college career options.

Only with sincere thought and self-reflection will students be able to answer questions about their passions, interests, goals, beliefs, motivations, likes, and dislikes.

To assist in this process, at ASB we monitor the development of our students.  Various assessment tools are used during our student’s academic life to determine aptitude and possible career choices.  All family members are involved in the exploration process.  There are five assessment tools administered to all of our students while in the Upper School; a personality questionnaire, an inventory of interests and professional preference, a school aptitude inventory, the International Schools’ Assessment (ISA) and the College Board’s Pre-Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT) and Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT).

Once our students have gone through the above-mentioned process of exploration and assessment, they are able to make informed decisions about which university to attend.

Finally, twelfth grade is full of activities for our students.  Those students wanting to attend local Spanish universities have the opportunity to attend or receive visits from universities in Spain and at times during the year, university groups come to visit our school from Europe and the United States of America.

If you are a parent interested in helping to guide your child, do not hesitate in contacting us! Our staff is available to you for support and to help offer solutions to your child’s needs.
