Dear Parents and Guardians,
We wanted to share some exciting news about a recent event that took place with MYP 1, Ms. Trini´s class that left a lasting impact on our students.
We had the privilege of hosting Tomás Gardizabal, sushi chef of Japanese Restaurant Nikkou at our school. The chef, an expert in the art of sushi-making, generously volunteered his time and expertise to teach our students the intricacies of this traditional Japanese cuisine. It was a truly remarkable experience, one that expanded our students’ culinary horizons and introduced them to a new cultural tradition.
Under the chef’s guidance, our students had the opportunity to learn about the history and significance of sushi, as well as the techniques required to prepare it. From selecting the freshest ingredients to mastering the art of rolling sushi, our students immersed themselves in a hands-on learning experience that combined creativity, precision, and teamwork.
Not only did our students gain practical culinary skills, but they also developed a deeper appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship behind sushi. The workshop fostered creativity and allowed our students to express themselves through the creation of visually stunning and delicious sushi rolls.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our guest sushi chef for his dedication, expertise, and willingness to share his passion with our students His presence enriched our curriculum and provided a memorable experience that will undoubtedly stay with our students for years to come.
