100th anniversary of the end of WWI
On November 2018, three guest, Mr. Jean Perez Servy, Mr. Peter Williams, and Mr. Larry Franco, came to the school to give us a talk about their experiences at WWI, due to the one hundred anniversary that took place on the 11 of November, 2018. This three speakers, who came thanks to Mr. Terry Howard kindly organized all this event, gave a lecture to students from 7th to 12th grade. The first speaker, Mr. Jean Perez Servy was a French officer and shared with us France’s point of view of the war.
The second speaker, Mr. Peter Williams, Mr. Laurent’s father, was a sergeant and shared with us Britain’s involvement in the war. Finally, the third speaker, Mr. Larry Franco, Ms. Nina’s husband, who was an officer exposed United States views in the war, and how their involvement affected them and others who were not in the war. This was a very interesting talk to learn about WWI. It was a way of opening our minds to what really happened in that 4 years period from 1914 to 1918, and how nowadays this war is still affecting us.
