Message from the Director
Dear Families,
You will or may have already received your child’s MAP exam results. This Data helps provide a snapshot of what students know, what they should know, and what can be done to meet their academic needs. With appropriate analysis and interpretation of data, we can make informed decisions that positively affect our student outcomes.
In the United States scores on external college admissions tests by this year’s high school graduates hit their lowest point in more than 30 years as well as Reading and Mathematics scores across the grade levels from primary to secondary. This latest evidence shows the enormity of learning disruption caused during the pandemic across the globe. Now more than ever we need to use our data results to help and improve in all facets of learning to all our stakeholders.
Please take the time to study your child’s result and should you have any questions or concerns, please contact your teacher and/or coordinator.
Speaking of external examinations, I would like to share with you some information that you might find relevant. Here is a link to a website that publishes the IBDP results of a given year and ranks them according to the world and region. You will see a page which addresses Top IB Schools in the EU. By scrolling down you will see that we are ranked #74. Since there are approximately 840 IBDP Schools in Europe, this definitely ranks us in the top 10% in Europe.
Of course, we are never satisfied and will continue to work on improving in all aspects of our school. But, it does feel good with all the hard work that was put in by all members of the community to see how far we have come.
Enjoy your weekend and look forward to seeing you next week on Halloween!
