Message from the Director

Dear Parents,

It is that time of year where we are beginning to see the fruits of our labor.  Our 12th grade students are taking their external examinations this month, the culmination of two years of hard work. We wish them the best of luck!  In 10th grade, students are taking their external examinations for IGCSE in English and Mathematics and MYP students will be taking their final MAP exams next week.  All this data is used to inform instruction in the coming years as well as differentiate the learning experiences for our students.

At this moment there are still many schools around the world that are closed, and we know from the data how detrimental this is to student achievement and wellbeing.   “When children are not able to interact with their teachers and their peers directly, their learning suffers. When they are not able to interact with their teachers and peers at all, their learning loss may become permanent,” said Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director.

Please know that we continue to monitor our students´ wellbeing and are grateful that this pandemic has not impacted us as severely as some others.

On an up note, this September we will officially be a full continuum school, meaning all our grade levels will fall under the IB curriculum. Our preliminary CIS accreditation visit will take place at the beginning of the year, and we look forward to receiving feedback on what is going well and where we can improve.

There is always more to do, and we will continue to follow our guiding statements for the benefit of our students and greater community.  Enjoy your weekend as the forecast calls for amazing weather.  All the best to you.

Regards,

Rafael Trinidad
