Field trips in Early Childhood
Visit to Xtreme Dogs
Last Friday, the Kindergarten class went to visit Xtreme Dogs inside the Garden Center in Sopelana. We had a great time learning all about how dogs are trained and we got to see many different types of dogs that they work with. In our most recent unit of inquiry, How the World Works, we are exploring our senses. The children learned all about how the dogs use their senses, particularly their sense of smell, to search and help people in need. Thank you to all of those from Xtreme Dogs who made our trip very memorable and worthwhile!
Transportation connects people locally and globally
Prekindergarten students went on a school trip to learn about different transportation in their unit of inquiry. They have been learning about how “transportation connects people locally and globally” for the last couple of weeks and they went on a field trip to experience what they have been learning. Their adventure started at Berango metro station. It was the first time getting on the metro for some students. After an exciting journey of going through the tunnels in metro, students got off at Areeta station to walk to the “hanging bridge”. It was another exciting, short trip for all of us! As they were passing by the river, students saw many different kinds of transportation. Boats, a helicopter, an airplane are some of them. The trip ended up in a playground that students enjoyed sliding through the tunnels. Although they were very tired, they learnt a lot about transportation.
